FLOW STOOPID! (AW MADE YOU LOOK)- DIGGY SIMMONS

OKAY...OKAY...THIS KID GOT NEXT LOL.

Diggy Simmons is "comin' for their pesos". He was always my fav on Runs House, and he's just nasty right now. He's got next, or got now depending on how you look at it. I mean he's killin' alot of dudes out here without compromise. It's so beautiful, his drive and ambition. Flow and delivery is on point. I like that he doesn't heavily rely on punchlines, like the trend seems to be right now. He's telling a story and sharing his perspective. I love seeing young people focused like this, who can comment on more than girls, sex, weed, and money.

His mixtape was hot. His blog is hot, and he all around just keeps getting better. This kid has my vote. I can't wait to see/hear more from him. And over one of my favorite beats too? lol all I can think of is the chorus from NERD's "Rock Star"

You can't be me, I'ma Rock Star

The kid Diggy Simmons is nice.

PS...17 days til' LA lol.

Kid Cudi "Pursuit of Happiness" ......19 days til LA

I love this song. It comes from one of the best albums of 2009 in my opinion. Kid Cudi's debut album "Man In The Moon" is something I strive for musically. There are quite a few tracks on that album that sound very epic and cinematic. I felt like alot of the instrumentals from that album could've been used to score film(this song in particular), and it pissed me off that Kid Cudi's dull sometimes monotone voice was all over the album. I couldn't care less that it was his album lol. He was ruining my instrumentals. It wasn't until later that I began to appreciate the contrast between elaborate heaviness of the music with his simple dull flat voice. It's a nice contrast. Like someone screaming over a track of harps and strings. He released an earlier video for this song "Pursuit of Happiness" and it was aight. I didn't particularly favor it. But this one? I LOVE this new version.

You know what this video reminds me of? Sleep paralysis. I get this every so often.

Definition: Sleep paralysis occurs when the brain awakes from a REM(Rapid Eye Movement) state, but the body paralysis persists. This leaves the person fully conscious, but unable to move.
Yes it is scary, but just like most things, it doesn't help at all to panic.

The suckiest part about it is....all of your dreams are lucid (you know you're dreaming) because you're conscious. So you'll have dreams of getting up and moving and feeling relief that you can move, right before you suddenly realize you haven't moved an inch in reality. You are, in fact, still on the bed/couch/futon etc. and your neck is still hurting from not moving. But you can't do anything about it.

The easiest way, I've found, to wake yourself up is to put extreme amount of effort into moving. NOT PANICKING. I mean it's like moving boulders to lift your finger, but DON'T FREAK OUT. Remember that scene in Kill Bill where Beatrice sat in the truck for 13 hours after being in a coma for 4 years? Her legs had become apathetic and she had to repeatedly chant "Move your big toe". Well that's what you're doing mentally when you're in sleep paralysis, and yes you could be doing it for hours.

But oh...OH! the sweet relief you get when you're finally able to move things in a quicker succession...move your finger, now move 2 fingers, now your hand, now your wrist, now your arm...*bam*, you put so much force into moving your arm, that you have now smacked yourself in the face...but hey at least you're awake now. Awake, and heart racing as you pray it never happens again, but of course, if you're me....it will. But now you know how to get out of it.

Yea that's what this video reminds me of. Hope you enjoy it. Lol.

Go To Moriah, Day 2

Yes. Day 2, because it's on March 2nd that I'm posting this, and it's day 2 in my 30 day countdown to LA. If everything goes as planned, I will no longer be residing in corn field country Ohio lol. It's really not that bad since I'm in Columbus-a metropolitan city ranking top 15 in population-but compared to LA it can be considered corn field country.

I'll be moving out to LA for my career in music, not the weather. I actually prefer cold weather. It's the snow that I can't stand. The sooner I leave it the better. I just graduated with my bachelors and an associates, and I'm ready to get out in the world. I'm like a lit bulb with so much excitement, but the messed up part is that soon as I get the call to begin planning and moving to LA, time decides to move at half it's normal speed. Is it really still March 2nd? Ugh. Thus a countdown has begun. I decided to chronicle my last month in my hometown of Columbus, Oh. Then when I get there I'll keep chronicling and chronicling. I want to remember these times. I want to remember the first days of the rest of my life. But. As it says on the side of the page...this will be primarily a music blog. My music, other peoples music and on and on. Scroll through the playlist, Daft Punk to Mary Mary to Clipse to Janelle Monae to Stereolab..you may find something you like. If not, tell me what you like in comments. I love getting new music.

Hope you enjoy!
